These are the commercial, pressure compensating, versions of the micro irrigation drippers you may see in the shops/elsewhere.
Because they're pressure compensating (that is each drippers flow is not effected by pressure variations in the supply pipe*) they are very accurate and also very flexible - you can easily add or turn off outlets without effecting existing or remaining component flows in the same zone.
Because of these features, pressure compensating drippers are significantly more 'user friendly' than either non-compensating drippers (difficult to be consistent and accurate, inflexible) or adjustable drippers (which need to be reset everytime you make a change to the system, turn the washing machine on etc).
A dripper cap (also available) quickly fits onto the output nipple of the dripper stopping flow, without the need for removal and/or plugging.
